Bimal K Pal is a practicing Foreign Trade Consultant. He represents a Trade promotion consultancy firm "Global Trade Forum" (www.globaltradeforum.net), now engaged in improving the business environment for trade through professional development and training.
Bimal K Pal graduated from Calcutta University in commerce with mark of honor. He passed CA Final Group II of ICAI and other special group from IIPA, Ireland. He obtained PGD in Financial Management from IIMC and also elicited PG Certificate in Foreign Trade Management. He is an accredited consultant of UNDP and International Trade Centre, Geneva.
Having served Jute Corporation of India for three years (1972-75), he joined Tata International Ltd as Accounts Officer, but later he was assigned in various other capacities in Export operation in TATA groups (including TATA STEEL). He served Tata Group for more than 20 years in the senior management position. He was selected by Govt. of India, ITPO and Export promotion councils as member of the Trade delegation in numerous foreign missions in EU countries, South East Asia, Australia and Middle East countries.
He was inducted in Rotary Club of Joka on 24th December'1982 in the campus of IIMC ,Joka and since then devotion and value for achievement of 'Object of Rotary' by applying 'The 4 Way Test' has been the" Golden rule" of his life.
In view of his deep associative relation with youth groups he was given assignment of "District Rotaract Chair" for three (3) times in RID 329 &3291. He served as Advisor and counselor RYLA International for several years. In the Rotary clubs he served in different capacity at the base level as well as in the Board. He was appointed as GSR by the DGs of RID 329 & 3291 and as GSR he helped to institute three vibrant Rotary clubs viz. RC Calcutta South Suburban, RC Cal Magnum and newly born RC Cal South City Towers. He introduced Tega CSR in 3H villages to run and manage three schools in villages at Dutta pukur, Barasat. He is the first initiator of "Organic Farming" project under Rotary International's Global Grant in the whole world (GG 14 18186). He received "Avenues of Services Award" from Rotary International for significant contribution in all the avenues of services.
He is member of two special schools for the Autistic and Mentally Challenged children recognized by Govt. of India viz. "Ahead" and " Divine Smile ( associated as Founder Secretary)" and a member of Mahavir Seva Sadan ( provider of Artificial limbs). He initiated establishment of Vocational Training Center in MSS as a centennial project of Rotary International. His passion is to serve mankind "Through Music in to healing" – a subject which pharmacology can't solve adequately.
