Soumen Palit, Founder and CEO

Dr. Soumen Palit has completed his MS in Applied Botany from Agricultural and Food Engineering Department, IIT, Kharagpur and Doctorate (CSIR Fellow) as well as Post Doc in Agricultural Biotechnology from Agricultural and Food Engineering Department, IIT, Kharagpur. His area of research includes Agricultural Biotechnology, Tea Technology, Sustainable and Organic farming, Soil less cultivation etc. He has published many research papers in national and International Journals and has contributed numerous chapters and scientific articles in different periodicals and books. He spent more than 12 yrs in different agricultural industries as a Chief Scientist, R& D Head as well as Technical Director. He has developed and disseminated different modern agricultural technologies related to various agricultural industries and tea industries both in India and abroad.

Bimal Kumar Pal, Global Stategist

Bimal K Pal is a practicing Foreign Trade Consultant. He represents a Trade promotion consultancy firm "Global Trade Forum" (, now engaged in improving the business environment for trade through professional development and training.
Bimal K Pal graduated from Calcutta University in commerce with mark of honor. He passed CA Final Group II of ICAI and other special group from IIPA, Ireland. He obtained PGD in Financial Management from IIMC and also elicited PG Certificate in Foreign Trade Management. He is an accredited consultant of UNDP and International Trade Centre, Geneva.
Having served Jute Corporation of India for three years (1972-75), he joined Tata International Ltd as Accounts Officer, but later he was assigned in various other capacities in Export operation in TATA groups (including TATA STEEL). He served Tata Group for more than 20 years in the senior management position. He was selected by Govt. of India, ITPO and Export promotion councils as member of the Trade delegation in numerous foreign missions in EU countries, South East Asia, Australia and Middle East countries.

Prof. B. C. Ghosh, Mentor

Prof. B. C. Ghosh is the professor of IIT Kharagpur in the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering. He did his postgraduate in Agronomy from BHU, DIIT and Doctorate in the Field of Agronomy from Agricultural and Food Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur. He has his expertise in the area of agronomy, organic farming, soil less cultivation, etc. He introduced tea cultivation in the non –traditional areas of South Bengal. He has published more than 200 research papers in national and International Journals, over 100 articles of extension education and has contributed numerous chapters on various subjects in the books. He handled several research projects funded by different government agencies like DBT, DST, ICAR, NTRF; TEA Board etc. and visited more than 20 different countries in relation to his scientific activities.

Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Mentor

Dr. Dasgupta is a former Sr. Training Officer of ICRISAT where he worked for 22 long years in the field of Agriculture research management, Natural resource management and Farm management. He was a consultant to Syngenta Foundation, India and AVRDC – The world vegetable centre. Recently he is associated with National Rural Livelihood Mission under MoRd, GOI. He started his career in BCKV as a faculty in Agronomy Department and taught for 13 years prior to his joining ICRISAT. He widely travelled in Africa, South East Asia, Middle East where he has trained more than hundred staffs from NARES. He has a Ph. D in agronomy from BHU, Post Doc from University of Hull, UK where he went with prestigious Common Wealth Fellowship.

Mr. Sukumar Roy, Technical Advisor

Mr. Sukumar Roy is a Tea Technologist. He received Tea Tech (Toklai) from TRA, Jorhat, Assam and he is associated with the field of tea for more than 25 years. He has a very strong knowledge in Biodynamic Farming and considered as the senior most technical educator of Biodynamic Farming in the field of Tea cultivation. He is also a member of the prestigious Biodynamic Association of India.

Mr. Arnab Dey, Technical Advisor

Mr. Arnab Dey completed his post graduate in Environmental Science. He worked as a Senior Project Officer in UNDP. He also worked in the area of Agriculture for Sustainable Livelihood Practices (Vermiculture and Animal Husbandry) with institutes like Javadpur University, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya etc. He has a strong expertise in different fields of animal farming like Emu farming, goatary, piggery, cattle farming etc. He was involved with Green Campus Project, Netaji Subhas University. He gathered a vast experience in the area of waste management and worked with Ministry of Forest, IIT, Kharagpur, different municipalities, Tagore Society, ITC, and Godrej etc. Presently he is associated with Animal Husbandry Govt. of West Bengal.

Mr. Sudhin Kumar Mitra, Technical Advisor

Mr. Sudhin Kumar Mitra is working as Commercial Manager, Rossell Tea Ltd, Kolkata. He has 20 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, team leadership, dovetailing business interest with that of rural development. He is an expert in conceptualizing strategies to engage rural markets. He is proficient in identifying and maintaining strategic partnerships for ensuring effective growth. He has the capability to posses’ in-depth understanding of the rural markets and consumer behaviour. He is also a team player with experience in working with cross functional and cross cultural teams.


Joy Chakraborty completed his masters in the field of Social Science & Tribal Development Management from NIRD& PR. He has more than 12 years of work experience in social sector. Since 2010 he worked with different esteemed organisations and government institutes like ISEC ,IIPA, IIDS, UNICEF, PACS, PRAVAH, NRLM under MoRD, ORMAS, State Rural Livelihood Mission of West Bengal, Odisha & Jharkhand, NIRD, BIRD, NABARD, EU, TRAIDCRAFT, CEC,TBI, Ministry of Agriculture, and Government systems from Block, State & central level secretariat respectively in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Animesh Ghosh completed his B. Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, WBUT. Later he completed his Masters in Rural Development, IGNOU and Masters in Development Practice, TISS. He has more than 8 years of work experience in social sector.
